Hawaiian sesame soy trout

Grab a bottle of Hawaiian Sesame Soy sauce from our friends at Humble & Frank for this delicious recipe!



  • 6 x 5oz portions of Springhills trout fillets
  • 1 bottle of Humble & Frank Hawaiian Sesame Soy sauce from your local Metro store
  • ½ teaspoon each salt and pepper to season


  • 3 cups finely diced pineapple
  • 1/3 cup minced red onion
  • 1 large jalapeno seeds and ribs removed, then minced
  • 1 red bell pepper cored, seeded and finely diced
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • salt to taste


  1. Place fillets in a glass container, skin down. Season with salt and pepper, and drizzle on marinade, refrigerate 1-8 hours.
  2. Preheat BBQ or pan fry over medium high heat.
  3. Place fillets skin-down and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side or until internal temperature reaches 145 °F (62.8 °C).
  4. From bottle, brush-on reserved marinade, top trout with fresh salsa and serve.
  5. Pairs great with coconut rice, grilled summer veggies and salad.
