Seared Soy-Sesame Arctic Char

"It's easy peasy and took just 5 minutes to prep and 10 minutes to cook. It was so flavourful."


  • 1Tbsp Soy Sauce

  • 1/2 Tsp Honey/Maple Syrup

  • 1/4 Tsp Toasted Sesame Oil

  • 16 oz pc of Artic Char

  • Salt and pepper to taste


In a small bowl stir together the soy sauce, honey and sesame oil. Season the fish with salt and pepper and brush with half of the sauce.


  1. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat.

  2. Sear the fish skin side up for 4 mins.

  3. Pour the remaining sauce over the fish and swirl the sauce around the pan.

  4. Carefully turn the fish over.

  5. Spoon sauce over the top and cook for 3 more minutes, until the fish is just cooked through.

  6. Garnish with fresh parsley/chives.
